Minutes

A general membership meeting of the Houston Hockey Booster Club, Inc. was held on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at SRO Sports Bar and Grill in Houston, Texas. A quorum of the membership being present, President Melanie Ogren called the meeting to order at 7:10 PM.

Melanie welcomed everyone to the meeting and made an announcement about the Aeros’ promotion of a Deaf Night event for the hearing-impaired community. She also made an announcement that the Executive Board had voted to present the Corporation By-Laws to the general membership for a vote at the November general membership meeting. Copies of the By-Laws were distributed to those in attendance, and will be included in membership packets and posted on the web site. Membership chair Ivan Kusjanovic gave a membership update as to the number of members signed up, which as of that night were 54.

Under New Business, Melanie presented to the membership a proposal for the Executive Board to purchase a dasher board sign at the Houston Aeros’ home games in the name of the Booster Club. The price of the dasher board for the year was $2000.00. After discussion, a motion was made by Tom Huber to authorize the Executive Board to spend $2000.00 and purchase the dasher board for the year. By majority vote, the motion was approved.

Melanie welcomed our guest for the evening, John Koos, the grandson of the inventor of the Zamboni machine. John spoke about the history of the Zamboni and the company that his grandfather started. He then answered some questions from the members in attendance.

Melanie adjourned the meeting at 8:25 PM.
